The Cargo Boat Despatch Company (CBD) is undoubtedly the oldest Shipping House and Stevedoring Company in Sri Lanka, having been established in the year 1886 and has the singular distinction of being honorably referred in the prestigious historical volume of “Twentieth Century Impressions of Ceylon” published by Lloyds Greater Britain Publishing Company Limited in 1907. Currently the company is managed the present Chairperson/Managing Director Ms S.R.Thambiayah
